Fuel Frenzy: NNPC Moves to Ease Supply Constraints
A severe fuel supply and distribution crisis has gripped parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), leaving motorists and residents stranded.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has attributed the chaos to a technical glitch in the discharge operations of two vessels.
In a statement released today, Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, assured the public that the company is working tirelessly with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy.
Their statement read in full:
“The NNPC Ltd wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.
The Company further states that it is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations.”
