Governor Fubara was spotted attending a worship service at the headquarters of Salvation Ministries in GRA, Port Harcourt, on Sunday.
His appearance follows President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State on Tuesday, citing rising political tensions and security concerns. As a result, Fubara, his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly were suspended.
The decision has drawn mixed reactions from political figures, legal experts, and civil society organizations. Meanwhile, the newly appointed Sole Administrator has swiftly taken charge, implementing key measures. He has convened emergency security meetings with law enforcement agencies, traditional rulers, and local government administrators, during which he confirmed the release of withheld allocations and directed the immediate payment of local government workers.
