Miss Comfort Emmanson, the passenger at the centre of a dispute with Ibom Air crew, has publicly narrated her account of what happened, alleging that a flight attendant assaulted her and left her humiliated.

In a statement posted on her Instagram page, Emmanson claimed that the crew member, identified as Julian Edwards, pulled off her wig, tore her clothes, broke her mobile phones, and cut her gold necklace. She added that the altercation escalated when the aircraft landed in Lagos after a disagreement that began during pre-flight checks.

According to her, trouble started when she struggled to switch off her phone as instructed. She said the attendant appeared impatient with her and made a dismissive remark, which she ignored after a fellow passenger helped her power down the devices. Emmanson alleged that the attendant later threatened her before walking away.

She recounted that upon arrival in Lagos, the flight attendant blocked her exit, prompting her to record a video. At that point, Emmanson claimed, the crew member attacked her, forcefully yanking her wig, breaking her phones, and tearing her top in the process.

Emmanson said the attendant also insulted her by calling her a prostitute, which led her to defend herself. She added that she was later surrounded by crew members who restrained her while videos of the confrontation were recorded and leaked online.

The young woman described the incident as traumatic, saying the viral circulation of her private images has worsened her distress. She expressed fears that the scandal could affect her career in real estate and damage her reputation in the long term.

“I never refused to switch off my phone,” she insisted, lamenting that she has been mocked, ridiculed, and stigmatised since the incident.
