First Female SSA Leaves Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Team – What’s Next for Ondo Politics?
In a surprising move, Hon. Barr. Fola Olasehinde-Vicente has resigned as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Diaspora Matters to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, effective immediately.
In a resignation letter addressed to the governor, Olasehinde-Vicente said:
“I write with profound respect and a great sense of responsibility to formally tender my resignation as Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters to the Governor of Ondo State effective today, 27th February, 2026.”
The former SSA, celebrated as the first-ever elected female member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, expressed deep gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the opportunity to serve, noting that her role allowed her to champion the welfare and engagement of Ondo indigenes in the diaspora.
Reaffirming her political allegiance, she pledged unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC):
“I remain committed to our great party, the APC… and will continue to serve as a dedicated and loyal party member.”
Olasehinde-Vicente revealed that the decision was made thoughtfully, signaling a new chapter in her political and professional journey.
Political observers say her exit comes amid growing speculation about the changing dynamics within Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
With this resignation, questions now swirl over who will take up the crucial Diaspora portfolio and whether more exits are on the horizon, making Ondo State politics a space to watch closely.
