The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has withdrawn the recently released results of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to address discovered technical issues.

In a statement issued on Thursday, August 7, 2025, and signed by its Acting Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, WAEC explained that the decision followed the detection of glitches and bugs during its post-release assessment.

According to the examination body, an urgent review is now underway to correct these errors. Consequently, access to the online result checking portal has been temporarily suspended.

WAEC advised candidates who had already accessed their results to revisit the portal after 24 hours, starting from Thursday, to confirm any adjustments.

The statement also revealed that paper serialization was conducted on key subjects, including Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics. This process reportedly exposed some technical irregularities in the earlier released results.

The council assured stakeholders that the review is aimed at ensuring the credibility and accuracy of the 2025 WASSCE results.
