EX-LAWMAKER EMERGES APC DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE IN OSUN
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has selected former lawmaker, Tunde Lekan Olatunji, as the running mate to its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The development was confirmed on Monday following the publication of the names of political parties and their governorship and deputy governorship candidates by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The commission’s Osun State office displayed the list across its local government offices as part of preparations for the poll.
The publication formally confirmed Oyebamiji as the APC governorship flag bearer and Olatunji as his running mate.
Olatunji, an indigene of Edunabon town, represented Ife North State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly from 2019 to 2023. During his tenure, he served as Chief Whip, coordinating legislative activities and maintaining party discipline within the Assembly.
Party sources disclosed that his emergence followed consultations with stakeholders across the state as the APC intensifies efforts to consolidate support ahead of the 2026 election.
