Ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Onyia Passes On At 73 Years

The family of Hon. Chief Dubem Onyia, a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has announced his passing at the age of 73.

He passed away on Monday after a brief illness, surrounded by his loved ones.

In a statement released on Tuesday on behalf of the family, Engr. Emeka Onyia confirmed the loss of the esteemed statesman.

“With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Hon. Chief Dubem Onyia, a distinguished public servant and former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

“He departed on Monday after a short illness, with his family and loved ones by his side.

“Chief Onyia devoted his life to God and public service, leaving a lasting impact on Nigeria’s diplomatic affairs both at home and abroad.

“He was a loving husband, father, brother, and a visionary leader who mentored many. His integrity, generosity, and dedication to uplifting others defined his life.

“Beyond his contributions to government, he positively influenced many lives through his wisdom and service.

“Chief Onyia is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, political associates, and friends.

“Details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.”
