Upcoming Nigerian musician Endurance Fiyeboh, also known as YoungJoseph, has paid tribute to his late mentor and godfather, Chief Sir Joseph Ekeremieye, acknowledging the pivotal role the late Niger Delta figure played in shaping his early music career.

Fiyeboh shared the emotional reflection after visiting the grave of Ekeremieye, popularly known as Egberigbolo-emi 1 of Niger Delta, where he remembered the late chief for discovering and nurturing his musical talent at a young age.

Some visits are heavy on the heart, and today was one of them,” the musician said while recounting the visit.

According to him, Ekeremieye identified his potential long before he became known in music circles and took deliberate steps to guide his development.

Long before many people knew my name in the music circle, he saw something in me in my childhood. He welcomed me, guided me, and patiently nurtured my talent at a tender age,” Fiyeboh stated.

He noted that the late chief not only mentored him but also provided the support and encouragement that helped lay the foundation for his journey into the music industry.

In many ways, he did not just mentor me; he helped build the foundation of the musician I am becoming today,” he added.

Fiyeboh said standing at his mentor’s grave was an emotional moment, reflecting on the influence the late community leader had on his life and career.

Standing there today was emotional, knowing that the man who helped shape my path is no longer here with us. But even in his absence, his teachings and encouragement still live on in my journey,” he said.

He concluded his tribute with prayers for the repose of the late chief’s soul, describing his impact on his life and music as unforgettable.
