In a significant restructuring of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has ordered the immediate deployment of 25 senior officers to key strategic positions across police formations nationwide.
This was announced in a statement released early Thursday in Abuja by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to the statement, the affected officers include seven Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) assigned to various crucial roles, along with 18 Commissioners of Police (CPs) who are awaiting promotion to the AIG rank, pending approval from the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The newly posted AIGs include:
– AIG Margaret Ochalla, now in charge of the FCID Annex in Lagos.
– AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, posted to Zone 13, Ukpo.
– AIG Fred Ekokotu, overseeing Zone 11, Osogbo.

– AIG Iwo Nemi Edwin Osigboka, assigned to the Border Patrol Force at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– AIG Garba Ahmed, now leading the Department of Training and Development (DTD) at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– AIG Salman Dogo, heading Zone 5, Benin.
– AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu, taking charge of Zone 9, Umuahia.
Additionally, 18 CPs, who are acting in AIG capacities while awaiting PSC approval, have been assigned to various strategic offices.

– CP Patrick Adedeji Atayero, appointed Commandant of the Police Academy, Kano.
– CP Tolani Alausa, posted to Zone 16, Yenagoa.
– CP Musibau Ajani, assigned to Zone 17, Akure.
– CP Mobolaji Victor Olaiya, now overseeing DICT at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Laolu Adegbite, posted to Interpol, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Clement Robert, in charge of Community Policing, Research & Planning at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Gyongon Augustine Grimah, heading Zone 10, Sokoto.
– CP Thomas Abraham Nabhon, assigned to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
– CP Musa Auwal Mohammed, taking over Zone 3, Yola.
– CP Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, now with the Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU), Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Olatunji Disu, leading the Special Protection Unit (SPU), Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, posted to Zone 12, Bauchi.
– CP Fasuba Akinyele, heading the Investment Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Musa Kareem, assigned to Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos.
– CP Chukwudi Chris Ariekpere, now overseeing the FCID Annex, Enugu.
– CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, in charge of Zone 14, Katsina.
– CP Godwin I. Eze, leading DFA, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
– CP Abel J. Zwalchir, assigned to Communications, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP urged all newly posted officers to embrace their responsibilities with dedication and ensure effective leadership in their respective positions. He emphasized the importance of supervision, diligence, and alignment with the ongoing police reforms to enhance the efficiency and performance of the Force.
