The Edo State House of Assembly has directed Hon. Natasha Irobosa, who represents Egor Constituency, to appear before its Committee on Ethics and Privileges within seven days. Lawmakers say she must respond to allegations of misconduct brought against her.

During Tuesday’s plenary session, Speaker Blessing Agbebaku stated that Irobosa needs to explain why her recent behaviour—now widely circulated online—has cast the Assembly in a negative light.

According to the Speaker, “Hon. Natasha Irobosa has been invited to appear before the Ethics and Privileges Committee over her actions that have gone viral. Her behaviour has embarrassed this House, and every member is expected to uphold the dignity of the Assembly.”

Agbebaku stressed that the Assembly is made up of reputable and educated individuals, but Irobosa’s actions have subjected the legislature to unnecessary ridicule. He emphasised that the House will not permit conduct that brings its reputation into question.

The committee is expected to present its report to the full House in two weeks.

Irobosa has been in the spotlight recently following a viral video of a dispute between her and her husband, music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
