Dr. Ogbuku Leads NDDC’s Bold Transformation with KPMG’s Governance Blueprint

In a strategic meeting held at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Headquarters in Port Harcourt, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, alongside the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Alabo Hon. Boma Iyaye, and the Executive Director of Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, engaged with a delegation from KPMG. The meeting centered around the KPMG Governance Advisory Report, which is poised to play a pivotal role in the Commission’s transition from a Transaction to a Transformation policy.

Dr. Ogbuku expressed confidence in the report’s potential, stating, “Once adopted by the board, this report will serve as a guide. Once approved, it will become a policy statement that every directorate and department within the NDDC can utilize. I assure you that we will strictly adhere to it during the implementation stage.”

He further emphasized the timeliness of the report, noting that it arrives at a crucial moment, as the NDDC now has a functional budget. The NDDC leadership is optimistic that the KPMG advisory will provide valuable insights on global best practices, corporate governance, and internal processes. Dr. Ogbuku highlighted the report’s focus on strengthening the Commission by enhancing internal processes, promoting accountability, and ensuring transparency.

The NDDC is committed to adhering to the recommendations and using the report to guide its transformation, fostering a more accountable, transparent, and effective organization.
