Digital Learning Program Could Become National Model for School Modernisation
The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has begun distributing digital learning devices to public schools in her district, marking a major step toward modernising education and integrating technology into classrooms.
The latest phase of the initiative took place in schools within Ajaokuta and Adavi Local Government Areas, including LGEA Primary School, Ganaja; LGEA Standard College, Ganaja; and Adavi Local Government Science Secondary School, Nagazi–Eba.
Students and teachers received the devices with enthusiasm, while local stakeholders praised the intervention as a timely boost for public education.
Speaking at the event, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan stressed the importance of equipping students with the digital tools needed to succeed in today’s fast-evolving world.
“Access to technology is no longer optional; it is essential for students to thrive in the 21st century,” she said.
She further revealed that the current distribution is only the beginning, noting that the rollout will continue on Monday in other parts of Kogi Central.
The senator described the program as a long-term effort to digitalise public schools across the district, aiming to strengthen learning outcomes and prepare young Nigerians for a competitive future.
“Supporting the education of our children today is an investment in smarter, more resilient communities, a stronger Kogi State, and a more competitive Nigeria,” she added.
The initiative has been widely welcomed by school officials and community leaders, many of whom described it as a much-needed intervention that will expand access to modern learning tools and encourage students to embrace digital education.
Observers note that if sustained and expanded, such programs could serve as a model for improving public education nationwide.
