The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Chief Dennis Otuaro, PhD, earlier today paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Nigerian Senate, His Excellency, Senator Godswill. Akpabio, at the National Assembly.
During the high-level meeting, the two esteemed leaders, both from the Niger Delta region, engaged in productive discussions on the sustainability of peace and the overall development of the region. The deliberations underscored the critical need for collaborative efforts to address socio-economic challenges and foster long-term stability in the oil-rich region.
Chief Otuaro reiterated the PAP’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of ex-agitators and integrating them into the national economy through sustainable empowerment initiatives. He expressed optimism that, with the support of the legislative arm, the programme would achieve its core objectives of peace-building and economic inclusion.
In his remarks, Senate President Akpabio acknowledged the strategic importance of the Niger Delta to Nigeria’s economy and assured continued legislative support for initiatives aimed at promoting peace, infrastructural development, and human capital enhancement in the region.
