The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board has announced that payment of bursary allowances for the 2024/2025 academic session will begin on March 10, 2026, for eligible students of Delta State origin studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The announcement was made by the Executive Secretary of the board, Dr. Godfrey O. Enita, who explained that the disbursement forms part of the state government’s Students Special Assistance Scheme.
According to him, the payment will be made strictly to students who successfully completed the registration and verification requirements for the bursary programme.
Dr. Enita stated that the scheme is designed to provide financial support to Delta State indigenes pursuing higher education, helping to ease the financial burden associated with their academic studies.
The board also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his continued commitment to supporting students and promoting educational advancement in the state.
The board noted that the bursary initiative aligns with the governor’s development blueprint known as the M.O.R.E Agenda, which places strong emphasis on human capital development and education.
While congratulating students who qualified for the scheme, the board urged beneficiaries to remain dedicated to their studies and continue to represent Delta State with pride, excellence, and integrity in their various institutions.
Officials added that the bursary programme remains one of the state government’s key interventions aimed at encouraging academic success and supporting young people in their pursuit of higher education.
