The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Ph.D., on Monday joined leading members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in formally receiving Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, along with the entire state structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), into the APC.

The defection ceremony, held at the Cenotaph in Asaba, was described as a watershed moment in Delta State’s political history, signaling a major realignment ahead of the next election cycle. The event drew thousands of party loyalists and political supporters, who converged to witness what many called an unprecedented political merger.

Governor Oborevwori, speaking shortly after receiving the APC flag, reiterated his dedication to fulfilling his administration’s promises to Deltans, adding that the new partnership would unlock broader opportunities for sustainable development.

The ceremony was attended by top APC leaders, Federal and State Lawmakers, political appointees, youth groups, and traditional rulers, underscoring the significance of the political shift.
