Amid rising insecurity in Ondo State, a fresh outbreak of cult-related violence has reportedly claimed the lives of five individuals in Ondo City, situated within the Ondo West Local Government Area.
According to reports, one person was gunned down near the FFF junction in the Oka area, while three others were fatally shot close to the Ife Garage axis. Although it remains unclear which cult groups were involved, sources suggest that the pattern of the attacks points to a confrontation between rival Aye and Eiye factions.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Ayanlade Olayinka Olushola, disclosed that several suspects have already been apprehended in connection with the killings. He also assured the public that security presence has been intensified across Ondo town to prevent any further violence.
