Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre following allegations that he impersonated social media personality Martins Vincent Otse.

Blord was remanded after appearing before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, April 1, 2026. He is facing multiple charges, including impersonation and forgery.

The presiding judge ordered that he remain in custody for 26 days, a decision that means he will spend the Easter period behind bars.

According to court filings, the defendant allegedly forged flight documents in Otse’s name and falsely announced that the influencer would join him in Onitsha for the launch of his application.

Prosecutors further claim that Blord publicly stated he paid ₦500 million for an endorsement deal and used Otse’s image across billboards and promotional materials without consent, presenting a partnership that, in reality, did not exist.

A source familiar with the proceedings said the actions “were calculated to mislead the public and commercially benefit from another man’s identity.”

The case has ignited widespread debate across social media platforms, with users expressing mixed reactions over the allegations and the court’s decision to remand the entrepreneur.

Legal analysts note that if proven, the charges could carry significant penalties under Nigerian law. The matter has been adjourned, with further hearings expected after the remand period.
