Hon. Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo (MHR) has congratulated Pastor Ekpo Jide as he commences events marking his retirement from the Ondo State public service after a distinguished career.

In a heartfelt message, Ojogo described the occasion as “a day of joy and a season of praises to God.” Reflecting on their 45-year acquaintance, he recalled their shared journey from Ijaw National High School, Arogbo—where Jide was his senior—to their membership in the Baptist family. He noted that Jide’s “infectiously simple lifestyle” has remained a source of inspiration.

Their professional paths crossed again in the Ondo State public service, where Ojogo served in various political capacities while Jide built an “untainted record” as a dedicated bureaucrat. He commended Jide’s lasting impact as an administrator, describing his leadership, warmth, and commitment to service as “legendary and worthy of emulation.”

Ojogo expressed optimism that Jide’s retirement would create greater opportunities for him to further his work in God’s service. “Your unwavering love for God’s work now has a wider space to flourish for the benefit of humanity. And that is where our greatest solace lies,” he stated.

He also extended appreciation to Jide’s wife for her unwavering support, acknowledging her role in both his career and spiritual endeavours.

“I congratulate you both. May the Lord’s unending grace and favour continue to guide your steps in all ways, always,” Ojogo concluded.
