CONFUSION DEEPENS: Suspended Felgos Electoral Committee Announces Postponement Amid Congress Showdown
Drama continues to unfold within the Felgos community as the suspended Felgos Electoral Committee announced the indefinite postponement of the Felgos election, throwing aspirants and stakeholders into uncertainty.
In a public notice issued to the general public and aspirants, the committee stated that the election, alongside all related activities; including manifesto presentations and the election proper scheduled to commence today; has been put on hold indefinitely. The committee added that further information regarding rescheduling would be communicated through official channels at a later date.
“We regret to inform you that the election has been indefinitely postponed. This decision affects all upcoming activities… We appreciate your understanding and patience during this period,” the statement read, signed by the Electoral Committee.
However, tensions escalated during the congress session when Icon James Tam made a strong call to action, urging all duly recognized stakeholders to act objectively and strictly in line with the association’s constitution to safeguard its integrity.
According to him, the Electoral Committee had, through its actions and omissions, failed to discharge its constitutional responsibilities, thereby eroding the confidence of the students it was mandated to serve.
“The Electoral Committee has failed to act in accordance with the provisions of the association’s constitution, undermining the trust of the students,” he stated.
Consequently, invoking the authority of the congress as the supreme decision-making body of the association, Icon James Tam formally moved a motion for the dissolution of the Electoral Committee, subject to the will and resolution of the congress.
As events continue to unfold, stakeholders await the final decision of the congress and clarity on the future of the Felgos election process.
