The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Augustina Mowari in connection with the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni.

The incident occurred on Sunday in Okitipupa, the administrative center of Okitipupa Local Government Area. According to police reports, the couple had an argument over alleged infidelity, which escalated into violence, leading the suspect to stab the deceased with a pair of scissors.

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, said the suspect is in custody and an investigation is underway. “There was a disagreement between the two, during which the suspect used scissors to stab the victim. He later died in the hospital,” Ayanlade stated. He added that charges will be filed once investigations are concluded.

A source familiar with the couple, who spoke anonymously due to lack of authorization to comment publicly, revealed that the two had been living together in a one-room apartment and were known to have frequent disputes, mostly centered on trust and accusations of infidelity.

“The woman believed Michael was seeing someone else, and during a heated exchange, she stabbed him in the leg with scissors,” the source explained.

Michael was initially treated at a local hospital and discharged with medication. However, his condition reportedly worsened at home, with his leg swelling significantly. He was rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night, where he sadly died despite medical intervention.
