Benikrukru Rolls Out the Big Guns: Top Niger Delta Titans to Grace Groundbreaking Exco Inauguration
Benikrukru Community in the Gbaramatu Kingdom is on the brink of hosting what many observers are already describing as one of the most consequential civic events in the Niger Delta this year, as it finalizes preparations for the inauguration of its newly elected Executive Council.
The high-profile ceremony, slated for Tuesday, November 25, at the Oboro Ultra-Modern Playground, is expected to draw an extraordinary assembly of regional powerbrokers, traditional authorities, and political heavyweights, signalling the enormous importance attached to the new leadership entering office.
At the forefront of the day’s proceedings is High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, who will serve as Chairman of the Occasion. His presence, community members say, confers unmatched gravitas on the ceremony, given his role in safeguarding national assets and shaping security discourse in the Niger Delta.
The event will also witness the attendance of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, who has been named Special Guest of Honour and Rt. Hon. Julius G. Pondi, member house of representatives. Their participation, according to observers, reflects the political relevance of Benikrukru within the state’s socio-political ecosystem.
Adding further weight to the moment is the confirmed presence of High Chief Dennis Otuaro, PhD, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, an influential figure whose office continues to shape the peace, stability, and development trajectory of the region.
In a statement issued by the outgoing chairman, Comrade Joel Tonjoh, the community announced that Niger Delta’s most revered freedom advocate and national figure, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), will also grace the occasion. Tonjoh described his attendance as “a strong reaffirmation of Benikrukru’s strategic position and the enduring unity of the Gbaramatu people.”
Equally, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom will serve as the Royal Father of the Day, bringing royal dignity and cultural authority to what is poised to be a landmark celebration.
With this powerful constellation of leaders, the upcoming inauguration is expected to transcend a routine civic ceremony. Instead, it is anticipated to become a defining moment, one that will set the tone for renewed progress, strengthened communal ties, and elevated political visibility for Benikrukru Community in the years ahead.
