Battle for 2027 Begins: Asiwaju Mandate Women Mobilise Across Ondo

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has launched its Women’s Wing in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, urging members to unite, mobilise, and strengthen grassroots participation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

At the inauguration, the State Women Coordinator of AMG and former Commissioner, Hon. Yetunde Adeyanju, expressed gratitude to the group’s leadership and applauded the resilience and determination of women who have remained steadfast despite challenges and intimidation.

She explained that the aim of the event was to educate and mobilise women across Ondo State in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, stressing that women must take the lead in ensuring a landslide victory for him.

Adeyanju praised President Tinubu for initiating numerous developmental and empowerment projects in Ondo State and across Nigeria, highlighting his administration’s commitment to women’s advancement through various federal initiatives.

She also commended the Minister of Interior and convener of AMG, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, describing him as a compassionate leader dedicated to people’s welfare and a key stabilising force within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. The women, during the event, offered prayers for his continued success in office.

Reaffirming her mission as the AMG Women’s Coordinator, Adeyanju pledged to ensure that every woman in Ondo State supports the APC and votes for President Tinubu in 2027. She announced plans for extensive grassroots campaigns, including ward-level meetings across the state, to secure overwhelming support for the President’s second term.

The women in attendance unanimously endorsed Tinubu’s re-election, pledging full loyalty and commitment to the cause.

Other speakers at the gathering commended Dr. Tunji-Ojo, for his unwavering commitment to strengthening the APC in Ondo State, noting that his grassroots influence has attracted many new members from opposition parties. They stated that while some politicians are forming new movements, Tunji-Ojo continues to consolidate and expand the APC’s base.

Dignitaries present included Senator Yele Omogunwa, Chairman of the AMG Leaders Council; Hon. Otito Atikase, Ondo State Commissioner at the NDDC; Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa, Deputy DG for Ondo South; and Hon. Corporal Nanaopri, Esq., AMG Secretary.

The event also drew AMG coordinators and stakeholders from the six local government areas of Ondo South Senatorial District, alongside party leaders, community women, and loyal supporters of President Tinubu’s mandate.
