Arogbo Paramount Ruler Makes Historic Entry into INC Board of Trustees
In a significant development for the Ijaw nation, the Agadagba and Paramount Ruler of Arogbo-Ijaw Ibe Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Pere Zacchaeus Doubra Egbunu (Opukutu III), has been formally inaugurated into the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Ijaw National Congress.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the renowned Ijaw House, drawing prominent leaders and stakeholders from across the Niger Delta. Among those present were the INC President, Benjamin Okaba, alongside members of the Board, regional leaders, and respected traditional authorities.
This appointment comes as part of the allocation of three BoT seats to the Western Zone, covering Edo State, Delta State, and Ondo State. The Agadagba now occupies one of these key positions, strengthening the representation and influence of the Arogbo-Ijaw people within the apex Ijaw socio-cultural body.
The monarch was accompanied by top-ranking chiefs and officials from the Arogbo-Ijaw Traditional Council, reflecting strong institutional backing and unity within the kingdom.
His inclusion in the BoT is widely regarded as a testament to his leadership, experience, and dedication to the advancement of the Ijaw people. It also marks a notable moment for the Western Ijaw axis, reinforcing its voice in national discourse within the Ijaw nation.
