Apply Now: Dr Samuel Ogbuku’s NDDC Launches CNG Vehicle Conversion Training for Niger Delta Youths
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), under the leadership of its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, PhD, has announced plans to roll out a comprehensive capacity-building programme for youths in the Niger Delta region on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversion.
The training initiative, which will be implemented across the nine states of the Niger Delta, is aimed at equipping young people with practical technical skills in alternative energy solutions, job creation, and sustainable transportation technology.
According to the Commission, the programme is part of its broader human capital development agenda to empower youths with employable skills and position them to take advantage of emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s evolving energy and automotive sector.
The NDDC leadership under Dr Ogbuku has continued to prioritize youth empowerment, skills acquisition, and sustainable development as critical pillars for transforming the Niger Delta region.
Selection Criteria
Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must be indigenes of any of the nine (9) Niger Delta states.
Applicants must possess a minimum qualification of SSCE/WAEC in science-related subjects, OND (Sciences), or a Trade Test Certificate from a recognized institution.
Holders of other recognized technical qualifications related to automotive, mechanical, or allied trades are also eligible.
Fresh graduates in engineering-related courses within the Niger Delta region are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
The NDDC urged qualified youths to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the programme as a pathway to skills acquisition, self-reliance, and meaningful economic participation.
