The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State held a strategic political meeting in Akure yesterday in preparation for the upcoming governorship election on November 16. The party’s candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is aiming for 700,000 votes.

During the inauguration of the Special Interest Committee and the launch of the “APC 700,000 Votes for Sure” campaign, the party urged its members to return to their wards and local governments to intensify voter mobilization efforts.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, represented by Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami, expressed confidence in achieving the vote target through collective effort. He emphasized the importance of reaching every part of the state, from urban to rural areas, to inform and motivate voters ahead of election day.

He stated, “We must increase our outreach and engagement. The opposition is weakened, and this election is ours to win. Our goal is to ensure voters collect their cards and are ready to participate on November 16.”

Prince Biyi Poroye, Chairman of the Special Interest Committee (SIC), assured attendees that the committee would enhance voter outreach by doubling the number of mobilizers at each polling unit from 10 to 20.

Poroye added, “We’ve laid a solid foundation today. While some units may show fewer votes, others can yield significantly more. We are prepared to make this happen and achieve our goal of 700,000 votes.”
