The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has declared the suspended officers wanted to allow for a thorough investigation into their conduct.
The State Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, made this known while presenting four criminal suspects at the Corps headquarters in Akure.
Adeleye said initial investigations indicated that the suspended officers were allegedly being sponsored to tarnish the image of the Corps and its leadership through social media campaigns.
During the briefing, four suspects were also paraded for various crimes, including one man accused of acting as an informant for a kidnapping gang responsible for several abductions in parts of the state.
In a related development, police authorities in Osun State have arrested twenty-five Amotekun operatives and sealed the Corps’ operational bases in Osogbo and Ile-Ife.
The clampdown reportedly followed the alleged killing of four residents of Akinlalu community, including three members of the same family, by Amotekun personnel about a week ago.
