The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has apprehended and paraded 24 suspected criminals arrested across the state. The profiling and parade of the suspects took place at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure, the state capital.

Amotekun Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the arrests were the result of a collaborative operation with other security agencies in the state. Among the offences attributed to the suspects are kidnapping, armed robbery, theft, possession of firearms, and the destruction of CCTV cameras.

Commander Adeleye emphasized the stability of the security situation in Ondo State, noting that law and order are being effectively maintained. “We paraded 24 suspects. We are pleased to report that the security situation in the state is very stable. Law and order are being maintained, and the anti-open grazing law is being enforced,” Adeleye said. He further highlighted the decline in human trafficking and the near elimination of cultism and militancy within the state. However, he acknowledged that kidnapping activities are still occurring mainly at the borders but assured that these incidents are being addressed.

A notable success in the fight against kidnapping was the recent rescue operation of a middle-aged woman, Bisola Olisa, who had been abducted by suspected kidnappers. Adeleye detailed the incident: “Regarding the recent kidnapping case in Supare, which recorded one fatality and four victims being taken into the bush, the Corps responded immediately in collaboration with other security agencies. We apprehended two suspects, one of whom is here, and we are confident that we will secure the release of the remaining victims.”

The Amotekun Corps continues to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of residents in Ondo State.
