The executive Governor of Ondo state, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday hosted the newly sworn-in Minister of State for Finance, Taiwo Oyedele, at a reception held at the Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.

Prof. Oyedele, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Lade Oyedele, attended the reception shortly after his swearing-in, in what observers described as an early show of political goodwill and support.

Addressing guests, Aiyedatiwa said the minister’s appointment reflects merit and national confidence in his capacity to deliver on critical economic reforms.

This is a proud moment not just for Ondo State but for the nation. Prof. Oyedele has consistently demonstrated excellence, and we are confident that he will bring innovation and integrity into his new role,” the governor stated.

In his response, Oyedele thanked the governor and attendees for the reception, describing the task ahead as demanding but achievable with collective commitment.

“I am deeply honoured by this gesture and the trust placed in me. The responsibility before us is significant, but with collaboration and focus, we can drive sustainable economic growth for Nigeria,” he said.

Among those in attendance was Hon. D.I. Kekemeke, National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the All Progressives Congress, alongside other political stakeholders, government officials, and associates.

The reception underscores growing expectations around Oyedele’s role in shaping fiscal policy, as Nigeria continues to navigate economic challenges and pursue reform-driven growth.
