In a moment that reinforces his administration’s proactive approach to healthcare reform, Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has earned high praise from the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Health Institutions for his staunch support towards the successful establishment of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Teaching Hospital.
During a high-level oversight visit on Sunday at the Government House in Alagbaka, Akure, the committee, ably led by its Chairman, Hon. Patrick Umoh, commended the Governor’s swift and strategic actions, particularly the state’s decision to cede one of its specialist hospitals for the hospital’s immediate take-off.
“We are truly impressed by the bold commitment your administration has shown,” Hon. Umoh declared. “It reflects a genuine partnership with the Federal Government’s renewed hope agenda for health sector revitalization.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to ensure the project’s success, stressing that a permanent site for the institution has already been secured. “The government of Ondo State is fully aligned with the vision of enhancing healthcare infrastructure and delivery,” the Governor said. “We are not only providing temporary facilities, we are laying the foundation for a future where Ondo becomes a hub for quality medical education and treatment.”
He highlighted the importance of synergy between the state and federal governments, noting that the oversight visit was crucial in identifying practical needs and challenges.
“The feedback from this engagement will benefit not just the government but also our hardworking health professionals and the people of Ondo State,” he remarked.
