Aiyedatiwa Extols Kekemeke’s Re-Election as APC South-West Congress Unfolds in Rarefied Orderliness
The Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has commends the re-election of Hon. Isaac Kekemeke as the South-West National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, describing the development as emblematic of steadfast leadership and institutional cohesion.
Hon. D. I Kekemeke’s re-emergence was ratified through a consensus-driven conclave at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, where 1,398 delegates from across the six South-West states convened in what observers have characterised as a remarkably placid and well-choreographed congress.
In his post-congress remarks, Aiyedatiwa averred that Kekemeke’s unanimous return “is a testament to his leadership that has transformed the party in the zone in the last four years,” underscoring what he termed a period of political recalibration and consolidation.
The exercise, conspicuous for its decorum and procedural fastidiousness, drew commendations from party stalwarts and independent observers alike, many of whom described it as an archetype of intra-party civility.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, opined that the congress epitomised the party’s adherence to internal democracy and organisational discipline.
He noted that the assemblage provided a crucible for unity, cross-fertilisation of ideas, and renewed regional synergy.
Speaking on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu felicitated Kekemeke on his re-election and expressed sanguine confidence in the capacity of the emergent executive to galvanise the party’s fortunes.
Also lending his voice, the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, represented by the National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, lauded the delegates’ assiduity, attributing the seamless orchestration of the congress to providence and collective resolve.
In his own intervention, Kekemeke described the gathering as historic, urging members to perpetuate the zone’s reputation as a pacesetter in party administration.
His acceptance speech delineated a roadmap anchored on electoral consolidation and strategic mobilisation ahead of forthcoming contests.
Chairman of the South-West Congress Committee, Jide Jimoh, affirmed the presence of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission, noting that the process adhered scrupulously to extant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Other officials who emerged from the congress include Alfred Aluko (Secretary), Ismail Majekodunmi (Legal Adviser), Lateef Ibirogba (Publicity Secretary), Ayobami Afolabi (Organising Secretary), Daramola Adesuyi (Youth Leader), and Dayo Insha (Leader for Persons with Disabilities).
The congress attracted a constellation of political heavyweights, including Governors Dapo Abiodun and Biodun Oyebanji, alongside legislators, party grandees, and other dignitaries, further accentuating its significance within the party’s evolving trajectory.
