Press Statement
Embracing Peace and Inclusion: A Call to Ex-Militants
As President of the Arogbo Ijaw Ibe Youth Council, I am compelled to address the concerns of our brothers, the ex-militants who disarmed in Ondo state in 2017 regarding Hon. Donald Ojogo’s recent yuletide and constituency’s empowerment program.
We respect their feelings of exclusion, as expressed in their January 5, 2025 press release, signed by General Felix Bowei. However, we urge them to adopt a more peaceful and constructive approach, rather than issuing threats.
Hon. Ojogo’s empowerment program has benefited various groups, including ex-militants, youth councils, monarchs, and community leaders, demonstrating his commitment to his constituents’ well-being.
We encourage our brothers to engage peacefully with the federal law maker ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed. As a youth leader, I am committed to working with Hon. Ojogo to benefit everyone.
Recall that Since 1999, no representative in this constituency has undertaken an empowerment program of this magnitude. Let us promote peace, understanding, and development in our communities.
Signed:
Comr. Shoki Gbadigha
President, Arogbo Ijaw Ibe Youth Council
7th January, 2025.
