In a significant legislative move, Hon. Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo, representing the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, presented two pivotal bills before the House of Representatives today, both of which successfully passed their first reading.
The first bill proposes the establishment of the Federal University of Oil and Gas Technology in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government. This institution aims to offer specialised training and research opportunities in the oil and gas sector, addressing the existing skills gap and promoting economic growth in the region.

The second bill seeks to create the National Institute for Vocational and Entrepreneurial Studies in Agadagba-Obon, Ese-Odo Local Government. The proposed institute will focus on providing vocational training and entrepreneurial skills to youths, empowering them to become self-sufficient and fostering job creation.
In addition to these legislative efforts, Hon. Ojogo moved a motion urging the Federal Government to declare communities affected by sea incursions in Ilaje Local Government as disaster zones. The motion emphasises the urgent need for the relocation, rehabilitation, and empowerment of the displaced communities.
