Ad Hoc Staff Needed: INEC Commences Recruitment for Edo, Ondo Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of the recruitment process for ad hoc staff ahead of the Edo and Ondo off-cycle governorship elections. These elections are scheduled to take place on September 21 and November 16, respectively.

Ad hoc staff positions available include Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), RAC Managers, and Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs).

In a notice released on Sunday, INEC stated that the application portal will open on July 15 and will close at 12 am on August 19.

“Applications are invited from qualified candidates to serve as ad hoc staff for the Edo and Ondo governorship elections in the following categories: Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), RAC Managers, and Registration Area Technicians (RATECHs),” the notice reads.

Eligibility Requirements:

– Applicants must not be members of any political party.

– Applicants must not have demonstrated or expressed support for any candidate or party.

– Applicants must reside in the state selected, except for RATECHs.
