Youth corps member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye, has expressed frustration after allegedly being denied her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate despite completing her service year in Lagos State.

Raye, who previously went viral for a controversial video claiming “Lagos is smelling” and criticising President Bola Tinubu’s government, said in a new video that the Eti-Osa Local Government Inspector (LGI) refused to clear her for April, even though she was present on her scheduled clearance date.

According to her, she was repeatedly told to “go to the back” until the LGI eventually refused to attend to her, seized her file, and ordered her to leave.

In a lengthy post, the corps member lamented that serving in Lagos State had been “a waste of my time,” adding that she had already accepted she would not get her certificate.

“They said the reason I’m not getting my certificate is because I didn’t clear myself for April on my scheduled date. But what they aren’t saying is how I was present to get cleared, yet the LGI kept asking me to go to the back, and when she finally wanted to attend to me, she said she won’t clear me,” Raye wrote.

She said the ordeal left her with “deep-rooted anger” but maintained she was closing the chapter and moving on.

The NYSC is yet to comment on the allegation at the time of this report.
