94-Year-Old Man Registers for 2025 UTME, Aspires to Study Political Science

A 94-year-old man, Adedapo Idowu, has registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to fulfill his long-standing aspiration of studying Political Science at the University of Ibadan.

Idowu completed his registration at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Professional Test Center in Ibadan. Speaking on his motivation, he revealed that his fears about pursuing higher education at an advanced age were dispelled after a seamless registration process.

“I can now attain my dream at an advanced age. The registration staff gave me a sense of belonging through the warm reception at the registration venue,” he stated.

The 2025 UTME registration, which commenced on January 31, has already recorded over 700,000 candidates, including 11,000 underage applicants, according to JAMB.

Idowu’s story was featured in the latest JAMB bulletin, where he also encouraged other candidates to embrace professionalism and contentment in their academic journey.
