Desperate Politicians Behind Ondo Finance Commissioner’s Trial – Asonja.

Against the backdrop, Senior High Chief Felix Idowu Asonja, the Officer Commanding the Ondo State branch of Tantita Security Services Limited (TSS), has alleged that desperate politicians are behind the financial allegations leveled against the state’s Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac.

Addressing the controversy on Monday, Asonja dismissed claims that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is being manipulated by his finance commissioner, describing such assertions as misleading and politically motivated.

“The impression that Governor Aiyedatiwa is under the grip of his Finance Commissioner, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac is untrue and misleading. It is a grand plan by dishonest and desperate politicians to create a false narrative about the government,” Asonja stated.

He further asserted that politicians resort to blackmail when their access to government resources is blocked.

“When politicians have certain advantages to pick from government quarters and it appears someone is inhibiting them, they resort to blackmail, just like they are doing against Mrs. Isaac now. They see her as an impediment because she is thorough and insists on financial best practices,” he added.

Asonja maintained that the allegations against Isaac are baseless, dismissing them as an attempt to manipulate public perception for selfish political gains.

“The reason for these attacks is that some desperate individuals in government want to control state resources for personal gains. Since they have been denied access, they have resorted to blackmail and propaganda. The governor knows what he is doing. The nonsense should stop,” he stated.
