The Open Letter of Ajapa Youth

In light of recent accusations by Ajapa youth regarding the relocation of polling units, our correspondents reached out to key individuals for their responses, providing a balanced perspective on the issue.

Chairman Molos, in a voice call interview, clarified his neutral stance. “I am an indigene of both communities, and I do not support either side in this matter,” he stated. He went on to mention that the matter had been presented to His Imperial Majesty, Pere Zaccheus Doubra Egbunu Esq., Opukutu III, the paramount ruler of Arogbo Ijaw Kingdom, who reportedly resolved the issue. Chairman Molos expressed confidence in the ruling’s fairness and urged the communities to maintain peace.

Our team also spoke with Mr. Vanish Fedoughaebi Mathew, who firmly denied the allegations against him. “I am innocent of these allegations. I am merely an ordinary staff member and have no authority to move any polling unit from one community to another,” he explained. Mr. Mathew urged anyone with complaints about the polling units to direct their concerns to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rather than attributing blame to him. He concluded by reiterating his innocence and denouncing the accusations as baseless.
