Ganduje expresses confidence in forthcoming Ondo polls
The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdulahi Umar Ganduje, expressed confidence on Sunday that the party will win the governorship election in Ondo State on November 16. This statement came as key APC stakeholders gathered in Akure to address internal conflicts stemming from the recent governorship primary and to strategize for the upcoming election.
Among those present were Dr. Ganduje, APC’s national vice chairman (South) Chief Isaac Kekemeke, and the governors of Ondo, Ekiti, and Lagos states: Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Abiodun Oyebamiji, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, along with Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and several aggrieved aspirants from the primary.
Ganduje urged the party members to unite, emphasizing that the APC is now speaking with one voice, as the aspirants have shown willingness to collaborate for victory. He highlighted the importance of collective effort and encouraged all members to mobilize voters in their areas.
Sanwo-Olu, the South-West coordinator, reinforced the need for unity among party members, stating that despite past disagreements, it’s crucial to come together to strengthen the party ahead of the election. He expressed optimism about winning and emphasized that no one would be overlooked in the process.
Governor Oyebamiji stressed that retaining power in Ondo State is essential and that the party must work to maintain its position. Senate Leader Bamidele called for the integration of all aggrieved members to promote unity.
Aggrieved aspirant Chief Olusola Oke confirmed that all 16 aspirants have agreed to support the party’s candidate, ensuring the state does not fall to the opposition.
