Military troops raid Boko Haram hide outs, rescue kidnap victims

In Kebbi State, troops executed a successful rescue operation, freeing eight hostages after a confrontation with kidnappers. The Army’s statement also reported that 15 exhausted Boko Haram fighters surrendered to troops in Borno along with their families, following sustained military pressure.

The Army detailed various successful operations, including dismantling terrorist hideouts, capturing key suspects, and recovering firearms and ammunition. In Plateau State, troops arrested a gunrunner, Mathew Caleb, who was transporting weapons to Bokkos. Additionally, two armed motorcycle thieves were apprehended in Bokkos, along with weapons and a motorcycle.

Further, two suspected logistics suppliers for Boko Haram were arrested in Damboa, with large quantities of materials used for creating Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) found in their possession. In another operation, a logistics supplier for Boko Haram was captured in Mainahari village while transporting drugs.

In Zamfara State, troops quickly responded to the kidnapping of a driver for BUA Company, engaging terrorists in a shootout and successfully rescuing the hostage. The Army also noted a similar operation in Kebbi, where eight hostages were rescued.

In Benue State, troops apprehended a wanted criminal at Gban Market, recovering ammunition, ATM cards, and cash. The Nigerian Army expressed appreciation for the support of citizens and reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism and securing the nation.
