Pastor and family taken for murder of college student in kwara
Popular prophet Pastor Adebayo Adeniyi, also known as Prophet Ogunse, and his wife are among those detained they are the parents of the main suspect, Adebayo Joshua Happiness. Six suspects have been paraded by the Kwara State Police Command in connection with the alleged murder of Ogungbenro Blessing, a female student at the College of Health and Technology in Offa. It was learned that the pair tried to tamper with the evidence by taking their son’s stuff out of his school before being arrested.
Awesu Mojisola was promised N15,000 by Adebayo Joshua Happiness, who allegedly invited her to a sign-out party at the Whitefield Hotel in Ilorin, Kwara State, according to Victor Olaiya, the commissioner of police for Kwara State, who paraded the suspects on Friday. Ogungbenro Blessing, a female resident of the Gbomi Area in Offa, Kwara State, submitted a report to the Offa Police Station on August 13, 2024, at approximately 1500 hours, according to the CP, who was parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin.
According to him, “She reported that her roommate, Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old graduating student of Kwara State College of Health Technology, had gone missing under suspicious circumstances.”
“The incident occurred on August 9, 2024, at about 1500 hours when Awesu Mojisola received a phone call from Kolawola Timileyin, a female student from the same institution.” He stated that Adebayo Joshua Happiness, a final-year expelled student of Summit University in Offa, Kwara State, sent a message through Timileyin.
The names of the suspects were Adebayo Joshua Happiness (male), Lawal Aminat (female), Adebayo Adeniyi (male), Adeniyi Bukola (female), and Bulus Peter (male). Among the items found is an iPhone 11 Pro. With the promise of fifteen thousand naira (N15,000), Adebayo Joshua Happiness invited Awesu Mojisola to the sign-out celebration at the Whitefield Hotel in Ilorin, Kwara State. Later that day, Mojisola left Offa for Ilorin after accepting the invitation.
But when Mojisola got to Ilorin, she called her pals to let them know that she was uncomfortable and worried because there didn’t seem to be a sign-out party. The suspect’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo Adeniyi, were captured after a thorough and covert investigation. After their son was arrested, they took Adebayo Joshua Happiness’s stuff from his school in an attempt to tamper with the evidence. It was discovered that Mrs. Adeniyi Bukola had removed the SIM card from the deceased’s iPhone and concealed it within a wall some distance from their residence.”
The iPhone and SIM card were found in the custody of Adebayo Joshua Happiness’s parents, despite his earlier assertion that he had thrown the phone into the Afelele River, Offa. Further investigation revealed that hotel staff on duty found the deceased’s body in the room and unlawfully disposed of her body at a refuse dump, he continued. “The suspects involved in this act have been apprehended and charged with criminal conspiracy and causing the disappearance of evidence.”
