The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple, has called on corps members to focus on developing and transforming rural communities through impactful projects. He made this appeal during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ (Stream 1) orientation course.

In his address, Mr. Pepple emphasized the importance of corps members’ roles in nation-building, urging them to utilize this unique opportunity to serve their communities and the country effectively. He praised their hard work, discipline, teamwork, and leadership abilities, encouraging them to contribute to creating a just society where no one is oppressed.

Mr. Pepple highlighted the significance of acquiring at least one life skill before the end of their service year, underscoring its impact on the socio-economic development of both Ondo State and Nigeria. He also advised corps members to accept their postings positively and contribute their skills and efficiency to national development. Additionally, he stressed the importance of safety, advising them to always obtain permission before traveling and avoid night travel.

The event also featured the pulling-out parade for Mr. Wale Oyinloye Owolabi, an Assistant Director/Head of Deployment and Relocation, who retired at the age of 60. Members of the Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS) donated a wireless microphone to the NYSC Ondo State, which Mr. Pepple gratefully acknowledged, promising its judicious use in future programs. Two camp officials received Letters of Commendation for their dedication, and the overall Parade Commander was recognized for his exceptional performance.

Mr. Pepple extended his gratitude to all camp officials for their contributions to the success of the orientation course and urged them to maintain their commitment in future endeavors. The ceremony concluded with a call for corps members to be at the forefront of promoting national orientation and rebirth as advocated by the President.
