The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed what he described as a divine assurance concerning the pupils and teachers abducted during the recent school attack in Oyo State, expressing confidence that their release would happen in a dramatic manner.

The cleric made the disclosure while speaking in a video recorded during a faith award event held in Washington, D.C., where he reflected on the security challenges facing Nigeria and the emotional burden the abduction placed on him.

Recall that armed attackers invaded three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 15, abducting about 32 pupils and staff members.

The affected institutions included Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele; Primary School, Esiele; and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School.

The incident drew nationwide concern after reports emerged that one of the abducted victims, a mathematics teacher identified as Michael Oyedokun, was killed while in captivity.

Speaking on the development, Adeboye said the tragedy compelled him into a season of deep intercession and intense prayers.

According to him, the circulation of reports and footage linked to the killing triggered difficult questions from members of the public, particularly those who questioned the relevance of prayer during moments of national pain and insecurity.

The cleric said the situation led him to seek answers from God.

He stated that during prayer, he received what he described as a message concerning the abducted schoolchildren.

According to Adeboye, the message he received was that the release of the children would occur in a dramatic way, although no timeline or specific details were disclosed.

He explained that he was instructed to leave the matter in God’s hands.

“I went to the Lord in deep prayer and agony because people were asking questions and challenging those of us who believe in prayer. I cried to God and asked, ‘Where is our God?’ Then God spoke to me and said the release of the children is going to be dramatic,” he said.

Adeboye added that beyond the issue of the abducted pupils, he also received impressions concerning the future of insecurity in Nigeria and issues surrounding those sponsoring terrorism and kidnapping.

However, he declined to provide additional details.

His remarks have continued to generate reactions among Nigerians, with many expressing renewed hope for the safe return of the abducted pupils while urging security agencies to intensify rescue operations and strengthen protection around schools across the country.

The incident has once again renewed concerns over school security and the continued threat posed by criminal and insurgent activities in parts of Nigeria.
