The Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, High Chief Caleb Ebimobowei Molos, has reassured residents of the council area that there is no security threat in Amapere, Agadagba-Obon, or any other community within the local government, urging the public to disregard rumours of an alleged bandit invasion.

The Chairman’s position was conveyed in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Denis Pounah, amid growing concerns generated by reports circulating on social media and messaging platforms alleging that armed men had entered parts of the local government area.

According to the statement, High Chief Molos described the reports as false, misleading, and capable of causing unnecessary panic among residents. He stressed that information available to the council and relevant security stakeholders showed no evidence of bandit activity or armed invasion in any part of Ese-Odo Local Government Area.

The council chairman noted that the rumours, particularly those linking Amapere and Agadagba-Obon to the alleged presence of bandits, did not reflect the reality on the ground, maintaining that the affected communities remain peaceful and secure.

He expressed concern over the spread of unverified information, warning that the circulation of false security alerts could create fear, disrupt economic activities, and undermine public confidence in the security situation of the area.

High Chief Molos further urged residents not to be distracted by misinformation but to continue with their lawful daily activities without fear, assuring them that the local government administration remains committed to protecting lives and property across all communities.

The chairman emphasized that his administration would continue to work closely with security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth organizations to sustain peace and ensure the safety of residents throughout the local government.

He reiterated that Ese-Odo has remained a peaceful and united local government area and that efforts were ongoing to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders to preserve the prevailing peace.

The statement also advised residents to promptly report any suspicious movements, security concerns, or unusual activities to the nearest security agency or appropriate authorities rather than spreading unverified reports through social media platforms and WhatsApp groups.

According to the chairman, responsible information sharing is critical to maintaining public order and preventing unnecessary panic, particularly in matters relating to security.

High Chief Molos therefore called on residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement agencies, and continue supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability, and development across Ese-Odo Local Government Area.

The statement, signed by Mr. Denis Pounah, Special Adviser (Media) to the Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of all residents and urged the public to disregard the rumours currently in circulation.
