State Applauds Kogi Police Command Over Improved Safety, Public Confidence
The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Naziru Bello, has welcomed a formal commendation from the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Road Safety Matters, Suberu Yusuf John, describing it as a morale booster for officers battling crime across the state.
In was contained in letter by the governor’s aide and praised the leadership of the police chief and the operational resilience of personnel of the Kogi State Police Command.
The letter highlighted what it called the Command’s “exemplary leadership and professionalism” in addressing security challenges and strengthening public confidence in law enforcement.
Dr. Suberu particularly acknowledged the Command’s collaboration with other security agencies, community leaders and critical stakeholders, noting that such synergy has contributed to sustaining peace and improving safety on major roads and communities across the state.
Responding to the commendation, CP Bello said the recognition reflects the dedication and sacrifice of officers who work “tirelessly, often under challenging conditions, to safeguard lives and property.”
He stressed that recent security gains were driven by intelligence-led policing, strategic deployments and active community partnership.
The police boss reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to proactive crime prevention and rapid response to distress calls, assuring residents that efforts are being intensified to consolidate on operational successes recorded in recent months.
He also urged citizens to see security as a collective responsibility by supporting law enforcement agencies with credible and timely information.
According to him, sustained cooperation between the public and security operatives remains crucial to achieving lasting peace.
The Command reiterated its resolve to uphold professionalism, accountability and citizens’ rights while deepening community engagement strategies aimed at promoting safety and stability across Kogi State.
