President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country will overcome its current security challenges and defeat terrorists and bandits threatening national stability.

The President gave the assurance on Monday while declaring open a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) in Abuja, attended by governors of the 36 states.

Tinubu acknowledged the gravity of the security situation, noting that persistent acts of terrorism have given leaders at all levels “sleepless nights,” but expressed confidence that victory would be achieved through determination and coordinated action.

He stated that the Federal Government would continue to strengthen and empower the military and other security agencies to confront criminal groups and restore peace across affected regions.

According to the President, terrorism and banditry are unacceptable threats that must be decisively addressed, adding that the crisis also poses significant economic consequences if not urgently resolved.

Tinubu further commended the governors of Borno, Kaduna, and Katsina states for efforts made toward improving security within their respective states.

The assurance comes amid ongoing national efforts to curb insecurity and reinforce collaboration between federal and state authorities in tackling terrorism and banditry across the country.
