Urges Niger Deltans to Support President’s 2027 Reelection Bid
The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, Ph.D., has expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his strong support towards the agency’s foreign post-graduate scholarship initiative.
Otuaro disclosed that the PAP has so far deployed 161 beneficiaries to universities in the United Kingdom for the 2025/2026 academic session, describing the development as a milestone in addressing the human capacity deficit in the Niger Delta.
He also commended the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his invaluable guidance and supervisory role in ensuring the smooth execution of the programme.
“I am eternally grateful to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for graciously supporting the Presidential Amnesty Programme. But for the President’s magnanimity, it would not have been possible for us to send 161 beneficiaries to universities in the U.K. The number is huge and it aligns with His Excellency’s Renewed Hope Agenda and reflects his undying love for the Niger Delta,” Otuaro said.
The PAP boss explained that the massive deployment underscores Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the area of education and human capital development. He stressed that sustained scholarship deployment both locally and internationally is critical to bridging the region’s capacity gap, empowering youths, and driving socio-economic growth.
Otuaro also used the opportunity to urge Niger Deltans to stand firmly with President Tinubu and support his 2027 reelection bid, noting that the President has demonstrated genuine goodwill to the region and deserves reciprocal action.
“The President has shown good intentions for the Niger Delta. It is only right that we stand with him and support his bid in 2027,” he added.
It will be recalled that the PAP recently organized a pre-departure briefing for two batches of the scholarship beneficiaries in Abuja, where they were cautioned to utilize the rare opportunity effectively and return home to contribute to the region’s development.
The PAP Administrator reiterated his call on beneficiaries to remain focused, complete their studies successfully, and come back to add value to the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
