Over 100 students across Ondo North Senatorial District have benefitted from the “Back to School” education support scheme initiated by Senator Jide Ipinsagba.
The closing ceremony of the free holiday lessons, held at Mega School, Oke-Oka and Adekunle Ajasin Town Hall, Isua-Akoko, drew parents, teachers, students, and community leaders, who commended the Senator’s intervention.
Students from Akoko South-East and Akoko South-West Federal Constituencies in JSS1–JSS3 and SSS1–SSS2 received school bags containing key study materials such as textbooks in English and Mathematics, mathematical sets, exercise books, and pens.
Speaking through his aide, Hon. Kayode Waare Kayode, Senator Ipinsagba reiterated his commitment to strengthening education in the district. He noted that the initiative was designed to ease parents’ financial burden, reduce dropout rates, and motivate students to pursue academic excellence.
Some beneficiaries, including Kolawole Blessing and Olarenwaju Emmanuel from Supare-Akoko, expressed gratitude, saying the items would improve their studies and support their parents. Parents such as Mrs. Bisi Ade and Mrs. Dare Janet described the program as timely, adding that it would help their children resume school with confidence.
The Principal of Africa Church Grammar School, Oka-Akoko, and Vice President 1 of ANCOPSS, Ondo State, Mr. Olugbenga Aminu, hailed the initiative as a rare and impactful gesture, stressing that it demonstrated genuine leadership and a deep concern for the future of young learners.
Aminu urged other leaders to follow the Senator’s example, noting that such interventions strengthen the bond between government and grassroots communities. Other education stakeholders at the event described the project as “transformative” and a direct boost to public school education.
