The federal capital territory, Abuja, is set to witness a major convergence of global diplomatic forces on Thursday, July 31, as Her Excellency, Amb. Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq, First Lady of Kwara State, takes centre stage at a prestigious international event honouring excellence in diplomacy and global leadership.
Abdulrazaq, who doubles as Chairperson of the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum (NGSF), will be conferred with the Diplomatic Leadership Award at the grand Diplomatic Digest 5th Anniversary Lecture and Honours, holding at Nicon Luxury, Abuja.
Also receiving high-level honours are:
Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Special Envoy on Interfaith Relations to former Ghanaian President John Mahama, and
Ambassador Davisha L. Johnson, Goodwill Ambassador to Georgia, USA, hailed globally for unlocking access and building bridges for Africans in diaspora through cross-border collaboration.
More than just an award ceremony, the event will double as a high-powered diplomatic forum as it features an anniversary lecture titled:
“Nigerian Technical Aid Corps and President Tinubu’s 4D Foreign Policy: The Journey So Far.”
The lecture will be delivered by Rt. Hon. Dr. Yusuf Buba Yakub, Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) the agency now at the frontline of exporting Nigeria’s technical expertise across the developing world.
The 4D Foreign Policy, Democracy, Development, Diaspora, and Demography is the current administration’s flagship foreign engagement template. Analysts say Yakub’s address will offer “a defining insight into whether Nigeria’s foreign policy is matching rhetoric with real global impact.”
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will attend as Special Guest of Honour. Peretei described him as “a fearless navigator of Nigeria’s foreign interests,” pointing to recent diplomatic feats including the safe return of Nigerians stranded in the Central African Republic.
