In a determined effort to promote transparency and improve service delivery, the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has announced plans to launch a far-reaching inspection tour across all areas under its jurisdiction.
The announcement came during a courtesy and oversight visit to the Commission by the Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on OSOPADEC earlier this week. During the engagement, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Prince Biyi Poroye, revealed that the upcoming tour would provide the Commission with a direct assessment of both ongoing and completed projects.
According to Poroye, the inspection will not only serve as a fact-finding mission but will also help in promoting transparency, accountability, and improved evaluation mechanisms. “It is important we see things ourselves so we can better assess impact and effectiveness,” he said.
In a related development, the Commission has concluded plans for a strategic retreat tailored exclusively for its board members. The retreat is designed to sharpen leadership capacity, strengthen governance skills, and initiate a comprehensive reengineering of OSOPADEC’s administrative structures.
The proposed retreat will create an avenue for board members to engage in reflective discussions, exchange innovative ideas, and align on a refreshed vision for the Commission’s development objectives. It is expected to improve institutional performance and better position OSOPADEC to meet the developmental needs of its oil-producing communities.
“These steps are part of our broader efforts to reposition OSOPADEC to better serve our people,” said Prince Poroye. “We are committed to ensuring that the Commission delivers impactful projects and initiatives that truly benefit our communities.”
