Ikosi-Isheri community came alive today as the newly built Senator Oluremi Tinubu Ikosi Primary Healthcare Centre was officially commissioned; a bold step toward strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery in Lagos State.

The colourful event drew a large crowd of residents, dignitaries, and All Progressives Congress (APC) faithfuls, all eager to witness what many described as “a game-changer” in community development.

Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was ably represented by Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, lending national weight to the ceremony. Also in attendance were notable APC leaders, stakeholders, and party supporters who hailed the project as a milestone achievement in the build-up to the local government elections.

At the heart of this transformation is Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the dynamic Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, whose vision and tenacity birthed the project.

This project is a clear reflection of leadership that works leadership that delivers results. When we see leaders who are truly working for the people, it is only right that we support them,” one APC chieftain remarked at the event, drawing thunderous applause from the crowd.

The new healthcare centre, named in honour of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to offer essential medical services and improve access to quality care for residents; especially mothers, children, and the elderly.

But beyond infrastructure, today’s commissioning carried strong political undertones. Coming just days before the local government polls scheduled for this Saturday, it served as a powerful campaign moment for the APC, reinforcing its message of people-oriented governance and visible development at the grassroots.

Princess Bada, who has consistently won accolades for her people-first approach, was visibly elated as she took guests on a tour of the facility. Residents hailed her as “a leader with heart”, chanting her name in appreciation.

With this bold step in community health, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA sends a clear message: progress is not a promise; it’s happening.

As the countdown to the polls begins, many say this project might just be the boost the APC needs to secure a fresh mandate in the coming elections.
